About Chris

Chris started playing professionally in 1979 whilst still at school and progressed through a succession of Cover Bands and Duo’s, all the while developing his solo act until in 1989 Chris was pronounced The Newcastle Star’s Solo Entertainer of the Year.

He developed his craft studying piano and singing at both Newcastle & Sydney Conservatorium’s and in 1992 toured Australia with renowned American Country Singer Tammy Wynette (playing piano).

For the last 16 years Chris has been an integral member of the renowned Country/Rock group The Wolverines. The Wolves have toured nationally & internationally, though recently they’ve decided to stop the arduous road touring and concentrate their efforts on corporate work, festival’s, private gigs and still record a new album every year or two. Chris, a very accomplished singer/song-writer and musician in his own rite, is now performing solo once again and manages to combine the best of both worlds admirably.

In 2005 Chris and partner Kae moved to Brisbane and since then has been once again creating a name for himself as a solo artist. These days Chris is in high demand and still enjoys his work as he has throughout his career.

Where Has He Been

Chris has played countless gigs in every state in Australia. Toured New Zealand, Recorded two Albums in Nashville USA and five more here in Australia, Flew to Japan and Played in Okinawa for the US Marines and toured Iraq & Afghanistan entertaining our Australian Troops in 2008.

Awards Chris Has Won

In 1989 Chris won The Newcastle Star’s Solo Entertainer of the Year.
Between 1996 – 2008 as member of The Wolverines, Chris won Four Mo Awards for Country Group of The Year, Two ACMLA Peoples Choice Awards, Four National Country Music Awards for Best Band & Best Independent Release, Four ACE (Australian Club Entertainers) Awards for Best Country Group and in 2002 won a Gold Guitar for Vocal Group of the Year in Tamworth NSW.

In 2010 Chris won the Peel Valley Lions Club Country Music Community Service Award and was presented with a Fred Hillier Original "Ceramic Dunnie" which now stands tall amongst the other's and a cheque for $500 which he promptly donated to Cystic Fibrosis Queensland to support further research into a cure.

Achievements

Chris has a Diploma of Music Industry (Business) from the Hunter Institute of Tafe College at Tighes Hill, NSW. Also Chris is a signed Songwriter with Orient Pacific Publishers (Albert’s) Sydney and has had in excess of 200 of his works recorded by various Artists.

Chris has 30 years experience in this field, is a seasoned entertainer, comes fully self contained with PA and Lights and above all, he’s Professional.  He doesn’t over commit, takes pride in his work and will go the extra mile to the best of his ability to be sure the customer is completely satisfied.

A Wedding Specialist, Chris has cultivated a complete Wedding Package which can take care of a multitude of potential problems that invariably arise when planning your special day. The Gold Package includes a performance at the ceremony itself, usually 4 or 5 songs, An MC service to alleviate argument's as to who is an appropriate spokesperson from both families, Dinner Music and finally Dance Music to Party on later.
